At A-State our band scholarship program is one of the best in the entire Mid-South. Every eligible student in the A-State Bands, both music majors and non-music majors, receives some type of scholarship, which can total nearly $5,000 per year.  To be eligible for a band scholarship students must fill out the A-State Music Audition & Scholarship Form to schedule an audition.  Auditions may occur on designated Music Department Audition Days or by individual appointment.  Regardless of format, auditions should be completed before April 1 to be considered for scholarship without being placed on a wait list.  Students who are awarded a band scholarship must participate in marching band in the fall semester and one concert ensemble in the subsequent Spring semester as a minimum requirement.  Higher scholarship levels may also require participation in additional ensembles and private lessons.  These requirements will be clearly detailed in each student's scholarship offer letter.  For more information about specific audition requirements for your instrument be sure to visit our Audition Information page.

In addition to our traditional band scholarships we also have instrumental scholarship opportunities for students who play in the Howlers Volleyball and Basketball Pep Bands.  Auditions for these bands will be announced during the school year and these scholarships awarded at the end of each semester based on participation.  For more information please contact Dr. Allegra Fisher.

For those interested in colorguard or our feature twirler positions please contact Dr. Allegra Fisher.  Scholarships for these position are also available from the Department of Music.  Please view our Audition Information page for more information on colorguard and our featured twirler position audition requirements and fill out this interest form to be included in audition announcements.
